Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Live from KCRW 2xLP Vinyl Record

In April of 2013, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds performed an incredible set at Apogee Studios for KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic to support the highly acclaimed album release “Push The Sky Away." "Live from KCRW," the fourth official live album in the band’s history, features a stripped-down line-up performing classic Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds material alongside four songs from "Push the Sky Away."

The session was recorded during the week separating the Bad Seeds’ two appearances at Coachella before a small studio audience by Bob Clearmountain. The vinyl edition features two additional exclusive, un-broadcasted live recordings from the session, "Into my Arms" and "God is in the House." This amazing, stripped down performance is undoubtedly one of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds' finest.

"No More Shall We Part" was first released in April 2001, and was the eleventh studio record by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds. The album came after a 4-year gap from recording, following the much acclaimed LP "The Boatman's Call", and critical appraisal.

"No More Shall We Part" showcases the virtuoso talents of the Bad Seeds, with elaborate instrumental sections on nearly every track. Additionally, Cave's lyrics are less obscure than usual, and he sings in a wider vocal range than he had previously. The album also featured backing vocals from Kate & Anna McGarrigle.

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Ghosteen 2xLP Vinyl Record

Ghosteen is the seventeenth studio album by the Australian rock band Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, first released in November 2019 on Bad Seed Ltd. Ghosteen was met with widespread critical acclaim. It received several perfect scores and is the highest-rated album of 2019, as well as the second-highest-rated album of the 2010s on Metacritic. The album placed in the top 10 album charts in several countries and was included in several publications' year-end and decade-end lists of best albums.

Produced by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis, Ghosteen was written in the aftermath of the death of Cave's son Arthur in 2015. Cave's lyrics, which continue his deviation from his usual narrative-based writing, explore themes of loss, death and existentialism, as well as empathy, faith and optimism. Like Skeleton Tree, the album features extensive use of synthesizers, loops and ambient elements, particularly the minimal use of drums and percussion.

But while hope was in short supply on Skeleton Tree, where the songs were so sad it was almost like a dare to listen to it, a unique sort of optimism pierces through the grief from time to time on Ghosteen. It’s in the chords that Cave and the Bad Seeds play (especially the chorus of “Waiting for You”) and it’s in the words of songs like “Galleon Ship” in which sings, “For we are not alone it seems/[there are] so many riders in the sky” over glistening synths. “Ghosteen,” which opens the parents’ part of the record, begins with the words, “The world is beautiful.” And there’s also a certain peace in hearing Cave sing “Everybody’s losing someone,” in “Hollywood,” even if it just means he’s coming to terms with his own grief. If anything, the real concept behind Ghosteen is that Nick Cave is not broken. He has merely changed. He may feel shattered, but he is still writing and finding meaning in his music.
